CO-GENERATION POWER PLANT

CO-GENERATION POWER PLANT

Cogeneration- also known as combined heat and power, distributed generation or
recycled energy i.e. simultaneous production of two or more forms of energy from
a single fuel source.  Cogeneration power plants often operate at 50 to 70 percent
higher efficiency rates than single-generation facilities.
In a cogen plant, to produce usable steam from turbine for process heating
and cooling , high temperature and pressure is first used for power generation.
Thus it becomes less contributing air pollution as well as optimum energy
utilization plant.
